Hampta pass trek is in the Himachal on the Pir Panjal range at an altitude of (14039ft). It is an alley between Lahu valley and Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh with the vistas of flora and fauna, the spell bounding mountains, alpine trees, glaciers make this place phenomenal. sethan village the part of the trek, this is frequently used by the shepherds. the taxonomy of the village was derived by the hampta village.
How to reach
By road- from Delhi to Manali you can opt for a bus and from Manali you can get a local bus/ cab or taxi to reach jobra from where the trek begins.
By railway- Pathankot is the nearest railway station to reach Manali.
By airways- the nearest airport is bhuntar which is 52km away from Manali.
Trek difficulty level
The trek difficulty level is easy to moderate. Require basic physical fitness and can be undertaken by any age group above 9 years. total trekking distance is 26km. It would be better if you get yourself involved in some fitness or workout regime before going for the trek.this is fun with small twists and turns and with the beauty of nature.
Best time to visit
The best time to visit at Hampta pass is from June to August and September to October, during the time of winters you are going to experience heavy snowfall and drop in temperature. and heavy rainfall in the rainy season . to enjoy the clear views of snow-capped mountains visit between September to October.

About the trek
This trek can be completed in 4days.
The journey for this beautiful trek will start from Manali to Chika via jobra passing through the beautiful mountains and scenic view. your will reaching chikka by crossing the rivers, mountains. The best combination of nature’s beauty with pine trees, maple and birch trees along with the Hampta river flowing at the side, enjoy the campsite at chikka.
the next stop will be Balu ka Ghera it is the coldest place of the trek with 2hrs. Of steep climb and 1hr. Of flat walk the route with shepherds huts and tea shop in between from here you will be descending towards Balu ka Ghera. In the way of your trek you are going to spot silver birch trees, take a moment and appreciate the beauty and have a look at the marvel range of dhaludhar snow-clad peak .the trekkers can get their first view of Hampta pass.
The next campsite will be the shea goru which the most scenic amongst all the points and has its own beauty. The trail towards the shea goru will going to be steep it will take 3-4 hrs to reach hampta pass, from the pass you will be able to spot indrasan peak and other peaks too From Lahul valley it’s going to be a steep climb. In summer season the place is covered with the thick snow and patches of snow all around. The deo tibbat peak will be right in front of you.
From shea goru moving towards the chhatru it will take 5hrs easy trek by the side of the river. From getting down the mountains you will be Chandra river flowing beside you. You need to be alert always as you are going to pass through sharp edges and cuts. And there you see the two glaciers which are to be crossed. On the other side of the glacier is chatru. You can set your camps on the riverside and enjoy the devastating view of nature.
